Udhaar without the awkwardness: keeping track of money lent to people you love

Most udhaar is never written down. A friend's deposit, a cousin's share of the trip, the amount that covered a hospital bill in a hurry. Six months later the two memories of it have drifted apart, and asking feels worse than letting it go. The money is rarely the problem. The fuzziness is.

Why it goes wrong

Not because anyone means to keep it. The person who borrowed remembers a smaller amount or a later date; the person who lent remembers it every time they check their balance. Nobody wants to be the one who brings it up, so nobody does, until it comes out sideways at a wedding.

The habit that keeps it friendly

  1. Write it down the day it happens: who, how much, in which currency, and what it was for.
  2. Agree a date out loud, even a loose one. A month from now is a date; whenever is not.
  3. Remind once, on the day, politely, with the amount and the day it started. Specific is kinder than vague.
  4. Settle where both of you can see it, and then let it go.

How EasyDooo does it

Money lent and borrowed lives in People, beside the person. Add Lent or Borrowed with the amount, its currency, a note and the day. Each person shows what is open with them, and the top of the list shows what you are owed and what you owe in total, a line per currency.

Give it a due date and a reminder appears in Tasks on that day, assigned to the person. Tick it there and the money is settled; reopen it and it is open again. Copy a reminder to paste into your chat: a short line with their first name, the amount and when it started. EasyDooo never sends a message and never moves money; it remembers, reminds you, and leaves the asking to you.

It is part of People, which is on the Pro and Max plans, and it works the same on the web and in the Android app, offline included.
